Holi is the most awaited festival of the year. Who said that? Isn’t Holi the most annoying, messy and filthy festival of all. Can you stand ugly coloured faces, kids wasting water and crowded markets selling toxic colours and water guns for kids? Rings a bell, doesn’t it? Do you feel the same way? Well, we understand you. That is why, we give you 11 highly appropriate reasons why some of us have a strong animosity towards the festival of colours (or festivals of hazardous chemicals as we may say).
Do you remember the morning before Holi, when you were all set for a really important meeting? How did being attacked by a bunch of kids with coloured water balloons or a bucket of water feel? The fact that hurts the most is that you can't even scream back at them.
How can people stand drunkards creating nuisance everywhere they go? Holi gives them a reason to get high and drunk, and they expect people to be ok with it? Don’t be surprised if some drunk dude throws up at you.
No matter how loud the ‘organic’ tag on Holi shouts out, they are loaded with hazardous chemicals. It is simply a marketing strategy. Why would anyone want to damage their pretty face?
Ok, Holi is just a day’s festival. What’s with the premature celebrations dude? Schools, colleges, work places, everyone ends up throwing colours at you as early as three days before the festival. Now don’t go full retard, ok?
It is not just skin damage, but even your hair faces the horror of playing Holi. If you had to get your hair coloured, wouldn’t you be in a salon instead? And, we are sure you know, bad hair means no pictures!
Summer is not too far away and people waste gallons of water just like that? Think about the hot days when there is just drops of water coming out of the tap. Still want to play with water?
People take the phrase ‘Bura Na Maano Holi Hai’ way too seriously. They forcefully put colours on your face, drag you to shake a leg with you and go overboard. It is so annoying, isn’t it?
Holi is simply a festival where you forcefully need to socialize. Even if you don’t want to, you have to fake a smile and act nice in front of all your guests. Don’t you simply want to go back to your room and sleep?
Not only colours and water but other things like mud, eggs and even food remains are put to use to celebrate the much hyped festival. Are they even human?
You play with colours for 30 minutes or so and it takes nothing less than three long hours to get rid of them. Who has so much time in the world? And, does anybody want to go with a coloured face to work the next day?
Finally, although everyone says Holi marks the onset of summer, one cool breeze when you are drenched with coloured water can bring chills in your spine. Not quite summer, is it?
So yes, you aren't a big fan of all the colours and chaos that Holi brings. But, you must not forget that the festival of colours is extremely popular festival in India and is celebrated by your family and friends. So, it would be wise and considerate to squeeze out every bit of patience within you and be a part of the 'festivities'.
