March 1, 2015 4:30 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The heavens have opened up and the little drops of joy have made contact. A rainy day is so pristine, so upbeat, and so amazing in every way. While some term the weather on a rainy day 'dreary' and 'grey', others embrace the freshness which it brings. We're all looking for ways to make the most of such wonderful weather. There are several things which you can do on a rainy day. These include things you can do while its raining and things you can commit yourself to once it stops raining. We give you the ten things which you must do while it rains outside. Check them here:

Take a Rain Shower

Who doesn't love a rain shower? Frankly speaking, you're not too fond of your bathroom shower and that explains your irregular (and highly unhygienic) bathing pattern. But taking a rain shower never gets old and the fun never ceases to attract you. So go ahead, don't be afraid to soak it in!

Get High On Rain Songs

Music takes front stage every time it starts raining. Moreover, there are so many prepossessing rain songs that you are forced to have a rainy day playlist altogether. Music on a rainy day is perhaps one of the most popular and melodious things to do. Click play, switch on the shuffle mode, and let the music rain!

Summon The Chef Within

You've been ignoring that occasional but extraordinarily amazing chef within you for too long now. Head to the kitchen and churn out some of your trademark recipes. You can ask 'Masterchef YouTube' to help you with rainy day recipes. Drinks coupled with home cooked food make your rainy day a memorable one.

Cheers! It's Raining People

Pull out that rare scotch, stretch out your bar cabinet, uncork that fine wine, and re-enact your favorite cocktail or mock-tail. You must enjoy your favorite poison on a rainy day. It simply brings more flavor to the concoctions.

'Pretend' To Wash Your Car

If they've been after your life for ignoring the car for weeks, now is the time to act! It's already raining so all you need to do is park the car out in the open and half of the job is done. Also, if you are a car lover and are disciplined about washing the love of your life (still talking about your car), then be sure to make a rainy day count. Enjoy a hassle-free car wash. You know what they say right? A clean car is the sign of a clean soul! (or something like that)

Get 'Creative' For a While

You've seen a lot of movies and sitcoms where rain induced thinking and writing take center-stage. A rainy day is the perfect time to put that to test. Let's make it happen. Scribble, draw, paint, play, and capitalize on that rain fueled creativity which will last the day at least. Who knows you may pull out a Picasso or another Harry Potter character out of your head!

Plan a Get-Together

A rainy day gives you the perfect excuse to plan a get-together. The weather is welcoming, you can add good food and music to it, plan a few indoor games, and top it up with some happy storytelling and nostalgic streaks.

Snore Your Way Through The Rain

For sleep lovers, a rainy day is that cool and pleasant day when they can snore throughout the day! You have no work, you can't really go out (or don't want to), and the bed looks more welcoming than ever. You can always rely on 'heat in the oven' food items and some wine to floor you. Tuck yourself in and to hell with the 'rainy day' syndrome!

Movie Marathon Time

When was the last time you watched Frodo travel from The Shire to Mount Doom? When was the last time you traced Harry Potter's growth from a harmless cupboard boy to a brave Horcrux killer? A rainy day is perfect to initiate a movie marathon. Pile up some good food, store some beer in the fridge, and you're on your way! Watching movies on a rainy day remains a popular choice till date.

Photography Speaks

You bought a DSLR way back and you carry a smartphone with megapixels loaded in it. You can put them all to use on a rainy day. Colors scream at you from far away on a rainy day, locations get more scenic, monuments look more artsy, and streets offer several vantage points. Photography enthusiasts (both casual and pro-active) must not let a rainy day slip away just like that. Spot, frame, and shoot!
