Gangtok Weather, a complete guide- here's what a tourist will want to know

Nestled in Northeast India, Gangtok is a breathtaking hill station and the capital city of Sikkim. The location is a perfect spot to escape the hustle of the hectic city life. Here you will find some very serene locations to make you forget your office-bustle and completely zone out from the world. Get lost in the coniferous forests and meditate a little or find a perfect spot to get the skyline view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.

Located at the lower heights in Himalayas at around 5410 feet, Gangtok tourism plays a major role in the economy of Sikkim. The city is also a base for trekkers to the Himalayan Mountain ranges. Gangtok is abundant in natural beauty and has various natural attractions such as the Tsomgo Lake, Ban Jhakri falls, Tashi viewpoint and more. Other places to visit include the Enchey Monastery, Ganesh Tok, Do Drul Chorten Rumtek Monastery, etc. River Teesta is one of the best spots for white water rafting in Northeast India.

The best time to visit the city depends on what the traveller really wants to witness.

Starting with the Monsoon season which is from June to Mid-September, you will find the scene to be mostly foggy. The day temperature will range between 17°C and 20°C.

Just after the monsoon comes two months of pleasant and calm climate i.e. October and September. The temperature during this period ranges between 15°C and 20°C.

Next up is the winter season which starts in November and lasts till the month of January when you will experience freezing single digit temperatures.

The months of February and March mark the spring season. The climate during this time is pleasant with day temperature settling between 15°C and 22°C.

Summer months are from April to June and offer the most soothing and perfect climate for travel, as the maximums settle in the mid 20s.

Sikkim has a lot to offer to a tourist when it comes to weather- right from snow-covered beautiful mountain peaks to the shady and foggy aisles.
