Most states in Northwest plains of the country have experienced fairly widespread rains and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours. In fact, rains remained mainly moderate to heavy over Punjab. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains were witnessed over Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.
Just a day before yesterday, many parts of Rajasthan and isolated pockets of South Haryana have received scattered rains.
At present, an active Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. An induced Low Pressure Area is over Central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan. Therefore, we expect light to moderate rains with one or two intense spells associated with strong winds and hailstorm to occur over northern districts of Punjab, Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh, today and tomorrow.
Even, Delhi NCR may experience a partly cloudy sky with chances of isolated thunderstorm activities on March 14.
By March 15, the weather systems would have moved away eastwards leading to dry weather over Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
However, isolated patchy rains may continue over Northwest Uttar Pradesh. This may be the last intense spell over Northwest India during March as the Western Disturbances will now gradually start shifting Northwards. Meanwhile, their impact over northern plains will also start reducing.
