During the last 24 hours, parts of Vidarbha have observed light to moderate rain and thundershowers. At present, a Trough is extending from Northeast Madhya Pradesh up to Tamil Nadu across Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Thus, we expect scattered rain and thundershowers in South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Southeast Madhya Pradesh until tomorrow morning.
Thereafter, the rainfall activities may reduce from Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh, however, they may continue with good intensity in Chhattisgarh.
On the evening of Holi, parts of Chhattisgarh and some pockets of Madhya Pradesh such as Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jabalpur, Damoh, Umaria, Shahdol and Sidhi may observe scattered rain and thundershowers.
The rainfall activities are likely to continue until the morning of March 11. Thereafter, the weather will go dry, but, another spell of rain is expected to commence in East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh around March 13. These intermittent rains are then expected to continue till March 15, while the weather may start clearing up from March 16.
These rains will not allow the temperatures to rise much and thus we do not expect typical summer to set in anytime soon in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
