Southwest Monsoon 2017 ended on a deficient note for the state of Telangana. Notwithstanding this, the post Monsoon season commenced on a rainy note wherein the Hyderabad city observed heavy downpours which caused havoc all around the city on October 2 and 3.

From that point forward a vast fall in the rainfall activity had been witnessed over Hyderabad including several parts of Telangana. However, now, good rains have started to make a show over many parts of the state including the capital city.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, the capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad recorded a mere rainfall of 1 mm. On the other hand, a few districts of Telangana recorded good rain and thundershower activities. So, Ramagundam recorded moderate spells of 45 mm, followed by Hanamkonda at 23 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen prevailing over interior parts of Odisha. Another cyclonic circulation is seen over South Telangana and adjoining areas.

A trough is also seen extending from North Bay of Bengal up to east central Arabian Sea across Telangana. In addition to this, a north-south trough is also seen running from the above-mentioned cyclonic circulation up to South Tamil Nadu.

In wake of these weather systems prevailing over the state, southern parts of Telangana will continue to receive good rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours. While northern parts of the state will witness scattered light showers during the similar time period. Additionally, Hyderabad is also expected to observe light showers.

Further, the intensity of these light rains is expected to enhance gradually after 24 hours over the state as well as over Hyderabad.

During that time, moderate spells with isolated heavy are likely to lash northern parts of Telangana. Whereas southern districts of the state will witness light to moderate rains. Also, Hyderabad is expected to receive a few spells of moderate rains during that time.
