Good rains for Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad to get light showers

Rains have remained on the lower side for the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Though isolated light rains have been showing up in parts of both the states from quite a few days but heavy spells have remained on the back seat.

The last 24 hours were somewhat similar for the both the states wherein only light spells have shown up in parts, However, in contrast with the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, rains of more intensity were recorded in parts of Telangana.

Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Nalgonda recorded 10 m of rains, Nizamabad 8 mm, Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam 6 mm each, Ramagundam 4 mm and Kalingapatnam witnessed 0.3 m of light spells.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough is expected to develop from extreme South of West Bengal to South Tamil Nadu across Andhra Pradesh. In the wake of this, rain thundershowers are likely to increase over the coastal Andhra Pradesh and in some parts of Telangana. However, the intensity of rains will not be very heavy.

The coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh such as Vishakhapatnam, Kalingapatnam, and Tuni including parts of Rayalaseema may witness few moderate spells. While the interior part of Andhra Pradesh may record mainly scattered light rain and thundershowers. Parts of Telangana including Hyderabad may receive light rain and thundershowers for the next 2-3 days.

The mainly cloudy sky is likely to prevail. Afternoons will be humid while, morning will remain comfortable.
