As you age, your skin starts changing, and you start to notice wrinkles, dark spots and dryness. It also becomes thinner and loses fat, making it look old. Thus, it becomes essential for everyone to adopt certain skincare methods. All you need to do is make a few changes in your daily habits that actually contribute a lot in skin aging. Here are a few habits you need to change in order to prevent your skin and body from aging -

Not getting enough sleep

An ample amount of sleep is very necessary for the body to function properly. Negative physical and psychological effects are shown in our body due to lack of sleep. Sleep deprivation usually results in dark circles and unbalanced skin. You would not want your pretty face to have dark circles, would you?

Drinking too much alcohol

Alcohol causes inflammation in the body leading to slow metabolism and tired skin. This results in stress and accelerates the aging process. Thus, let those extra beer cans stay in the freezer and save them for an extra special day!

Exfoliating excessively

Exfoliation is great for getting rid of dead skin cells, but then doing it excessively prevents skin from retaining water. This makes the skin look dry and develops wrinkles.

Smoking

The habit of smoking has the most disadvantages. Along with putting our hearts and lungs at risk, it also leads to skin ageing. The heat from the cigarette burns our skin, changes the elastic fibers of the skin and reduces the moisture from our skin.

Avoiding sunscreen

The major reason for ageing of skin are the sun rays. Most of ageing happens due to sun rays that penetrate the skin and alter its elastic structures. Therefore, you should never avoid sunscreens before going out in the sun.

Not exercising enough

Exercises rejuvenate the body and muscles.  Oxygen and nutrients in the blood can reach the capillaries of the skin easier when we exercise, which results in better looking skin. So put on your running shoes and hit the road, let that fresh air calm your senses down!
