A spokesperson from the committee confirms that the Golden Temple had started serving organic carrot, radish, spinach and cabbage as part of langar from January itself. They aim at providing chemical-free food to the devotees. The SGPC is working at expanding the reach of organic veggies and expert advice from the Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Limited will help them get the desired results.
The organic langar receives supply from the 7 acre SGPC farm available at the Gurdwara Gurusar Satlani Sahib. The committee has now started growing wheat and fruits as well for the organic langar.
