World Health Organization believes in the fact that progress is being made in countries in all regions of the world. However, millions of people still have no access at all to health care. To stay fit is always a work under process until someone achieves a healthy living style.
World Health Day is a chance to celebrate health and remind the world that everyone across the world should have access to health care as and when in need. That is why WHO is focusing on universal health coverage for this year’s World Health Day, on 7 April.
India's work towards health coverage for all includes in focusing towards the affordability and accessibility of proper healthcare with the introduction of Ayushman Bharat. This scheme has been introduced to provide a family cover of Rs. 5 lacs to socio-economically weaker section.
It has come to notice that world is facing multiple health challenges which ranges from outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases like measles and diphtheria. Also, growing rates of obesity and physical inactivity have led to the health impacts of environmental pollution, climate change and multiple humanitarian crisis.
All the UN Member States have agreed to try to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030, as a part of the Sustainable Development Goals.
