After Winter Storm Niko, wreaked havoc over the Northeastern region of the United States, another storm is creating chaos over the very same region once again. Winter Storm Orson has begun to affect several parts of Northeast United States.
So much so that at least two people have been killed due to the storm. While a 60-year-old in Massachusetts died after a snowplow struck him, a 22-year-old was killed in Pennsylvania as a tree crashed through his windshield.
Heavy snowfall accompanied with high velocity winds have been affecting the daily lives of the people living in the Northeast US. New England, Connecticut and several other parts including Washington D.C. have been bearing the brunt of Winter Storm Orson.
In fact, part of the roof of a three-story apartment building was blown down due to gusty winds. Several areas in Northeast United States have observed winds gusting up to 115 kmph as well.
Airports in Northeast United States have been witnessing massive delays with several cancellations. In fact, hundreds of cancellations were observed in Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire. Not only this, the airport at Portland was also closed.

Over a foot of snow was recorded in parts of New England. Snowfall was recorded over Upstate New York as well. This has been the biggest storm to have hit Vermont in the last two years and at least 16 inches of snowfall has been recorded over the state.
Winter Storm Orson has been intensifying and blizzard warnings are in places for several Northeast states including Maine. People have been advised to exercise caution and avoid travel as much as possible.
