Strong winds from the Arctic region are most likely to enter Germany from north early this week as a potential wind storm.

Many areas of Germany will expect the chill in the air since last winter. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain as high as 4°C (39 F) on Monday and Tuesday.

The maximum temperature in few areas may even reach 0°C (32 F) during the day and the minimum temperatures could see falling to -7°C (20 F) or lower. Even with the bone chilling cold air, no snowfall shall be expected in the country as a high pressure system hovers over Germany. This weather system will be providing the region with dry conditions.

The high pressure system is expected to move away during the middle of the week as another storm is expected to show up from the Atlantic Ocean. The storm will be strengthening as it enters Germany, the threat for damaging winds and snowfall are more with this system.

The chance for snowfall to occur is expected on Wednesday over East Germany. Traveller from Hamburg, Berlin and Dresden can expect delays due to the snowfall. But delay in travel will broaden its area on Thursday as high winds arrive.

Northeast Germany will be witnessing strong gusty winds of 70kmph are possible. Meanwhile few locations in southern Germany will witness gusts of 55kmph. In the mid-week, the cold snap will ease out only to allow another shot of cold air to arrive this weekend.
