Willa may ruin the Halloween weekend in New Jersey

It seems like pre-Halloween weekend might get spoilt by the monstrous Hurricane Willa that has the potential to cause exuberant showers and gusty winds in the New Jersey region. However, there is a strong likelihood that the storm might move out to the sea without causing relentless rains.

Hurricane Willa has intensified into Cat 5 storm, but only for a short duration as it nears the Mexico Coast. It is most likely to make a landfall as a Cat 4 when it hits Mexico's Pacific coast sometime Tuesday afternoon or Tuesday evening causing catastrophic damage.

Thereafter, it would weaken to a tropical depression as it moves towards the northern Gulf coast of Texas.

The forecasters are keeping a close watch to track the path and intensity of Willa and its remnants in the coming days.

As of now, the highest possibility of rain in the New Jersey region is expected to occur on Saturday and Sunday. The storm is also imminent to bring snow to parts of Northern New England and the Central Appalachians depending on its path.

The residents of New Jersey are advised to be prepared for a fresh cold snap this week which can be attributed to a new cold front that would bring a chill in the air.

Hence, colder than average temperatures are expected to linger in the Garden State on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with mercury levels firmed at the upper 40s to low 50s during the day and plummeting to the low of mid-30s all night.

Such temperatures are more familiar in late November than late October.
