California’s picturesque Big Sur coastline is coping with wild fire. Since Thursday, firefighters are trying their best to get hands on the broken massive wildfire.
This blaze is reported to have devastated almost 34 homes as it has spanned across 42 square miles. Moreover, 2000 buildings are in danger too. In fact, one person is reported to have lost his life while operating the bulldozer that rolled over on fire lines.
It’s almost been a week since the wildfire broke out and only 10 percent of it has been contained till now. However, reportedly, 20 homes had already been burnt till then and 300 were ordered to get evacuated at an earliest.
As per the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, California, the fire is estimated to go on until August to get quenched completely.
In Southern California, another wildfire broke out between the northern edge of Los Angeles and Santa Clarita that stretched up to 59 square miles, however, 25 percent of it has been contained.
Cal Fire Battalion chief claims that efforts are being made to control the blaze but fire is anyhow progressing at a much faster rate. Moreover, the steep and coarse topography of the area is making it a bit difficult to keep pace with the wildfire and therefore, it will take much more time to get completely extinguished.
Smoke and the threat of flames also enforced the shutting down of state parks near Big Sur. These state parks have always been a famous tourist attraction offering scenic view of mountains and ocean. These parks are also most economy earner for the state. Campgrounds were also closed due to smoke dangers.
A few locals have also evacuated their homes due to the wildfire. Most of them are even unaware if their homes are still safe or not. Meanwhile, authorities are yet to find the main reason for this wildfire.
