The ferocious heatwave is expected to set foot in Washington D.C. by this weekend. As per weather experts, the maximum temperature is expected to go beyond 100 degrees Fahrenheit which is likely to happen in almost four years.

In just a few days, expect some records to be broken as one of the fiercest summers is expected to make an entrance in the national capital. As per weather models, both Friday and Monday are expected to observe temperatures around the 100-degree mark.

Interestingly, European weather models have painted a more devastating picture predicting a maximum of 106 degrees on Sunday, which is expected to break records. Such high temperatures were witnessed in the years 1918 as well as 1930.

These conditions can be attributed to the influence of the massive heat dome which is likely to form in the Heartland in a day or two. Around Friday, the heat dome is expected to well stretch from coast to coast covering more areas as well.

During the last few years, extremely hot weather in D.C. has remained far away. The last time the mercury crossed the 100-degree mark was on July 26, 2012. In fact between the years 2010 and 2012, the temperatures had reached 100 degrees and above at least 17 times.
