Mild air will surge across the United Kingdom by the mid-week.
A high-pressure area is seen developing over Western Europe which will result in southerly direction of winds, making temperatures to climb few degrees above normal as early as Wednesday.
Temperatures will soar as high as 15-16 °C (60 °F) around Manchester and 16-17 °C (61-63 °F) across southern England, including London, into the weekend.
Normal temperatures will range from 11-13 °C (52-56 °F) across Wales, the Midlands and southern England during late October.
Dry and mild weather across England and Wales can be attributed to the high-pressure area into the upcoming weekend, with low clouds and fog hindering the pleasing weather.
Southern parts of the United Kingdom will observe mostly dry and brighter spells, with outbreaks of some showery rain from Northern Ireland and Scotland to Northwest England. Widespread showers may occur for several hours in the western areas of UK on Thursday.
For now, weather experts are reluctant to embrace the possibility of an unusually cold winter; however abundant intra-seasonal variability may produce more spells of cold weather than the last three winters across Western Europe.
