Frequent storm systems will keep the summer warmth at bay for UK through much of July.
Outdoor plans will go for a toss when storm systems coming in from the Atlantic combined with cool air coming from the north will affect the region.
Normally from May to July there are several spells of warm conditions. This July is likely to witness more days with below normal temperatures. The average maximum temperature during the middle of July is between 18°C to 21°C for most places.
A trough will be over northwestern Europe for the next couple of weeks. This trough will keep the heat out of UK during the first half of July and divert the heat towards Eastern Europe and western Russia. This trough will enable storm systems moving in from the Atlantic to affect the region on a regular basis.
The weather pattern for most of July will feature frequent brief showers rather than dry and sunny skies. During the first half of the month the stormy conditions will be longer. The areas which will experience the bulk of the rains include Wales, northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
This would affect the Wimbledon which continues till 10th July. There are several days of rain expected which will cause delays and washouts. Major delays are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday and then again next week as another storm system moves in over the region.
