Britain is already reeling under the wintry weather since last many days but as per the weather experts, this is just the beginning. Freezing conditions are likely to sweep the country over the next few days.

The central and northern regions of the country are expected to witness plummeting temperatures as chilly air from Europe shoves into the UK. However, Brits witnessed a dual face weather this week wherein the north part of the country observed mercury settling in double digits, however, the south continued to freeze.

The level-2 cold weather health watch has been raised up to a serious level-3 by the Met Department across south England. Moreover, through the weekend, as colder weather sets in, another level-2 health alert has been issued for central and northern regions.

Moreover, the Meteorological Department claims that the southern along with some coastal regions of the country are expected to freeze overnight. The reason for this can be attributed to a high pressure that is settled over Europe. Moreover, this weather system has been inching closer to the UK allowing the icy Polar air to spread across the country.

Other parts of the country, on the contrary, can witness temperatures scaling and settling between 5°C and 6°C. The possibility of some drizzles making their way over the area also stands firm and combined with mercury dropping, it could lead to icy and slippery roads.

Temperatures across Scotland, Wales along with central and northern Britain will be chillier than the prevailing colder weather. The low can be -5°C in the southeast and the rural areas could witness lows of -1°C.

The Met Office also states that until Tuesday there are 90 percent chances of a severe cold weather across the south hence people vulnerable to cold are to be taken extra care of.
