Many parts of Britain could be in for the hottest day of the year as temperatures soar and come close to 19°C on Monday. According to weather forecaster’s parts of UK could even be hotter than Barcelona and Ibiza as warm air and clear skies are persistent over the region.

This is quite a welcome turnaround from the unsettled and stormy weather that storm Katie brought over the Easter weekend. Temperatures reached as high as 15.8°C in Holbeach, Lincolnshire on Saturday, and is expected to rise upto 19°C in the southeast parts of the region.

The average temperatures during the early part of April is normally around 12°C, however this year Braemar, Aberdeenshire recorded a high of 18.7°C in March. If the temperature reach or breach the 19°C mark then that would make the hottest day of the year.

This weather is not for the entire region, it will be a mix and match of both rain and sunshine in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland where some rainfall will occur. Further south, in England and Wales sunny spells with patchy clouds will be observed. Western parts will witness some heavy showers during the evening. The best of the weather will be experienced to the south east.

The warm conditions are due to change of direction of winds which has led to warm continental winds over the region.

These warm conditions will not last much as unsettled weather with heavy rain is expected from early next week.
