UK braces for sub-zero temperatures during this weekend

The weather conditions in UK are expected to take a U-turn towards the coming weekend. This can be attributed to an arctic cold front bringing in snow, hail and chilly air across the country, thereby putting an end to the warmer autumnal period.

Thursday would have plenty of sunshine, particularly across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eastern Scotland while there is a possibility of rain in Western Scotland.

Weather forecasters predict that this cold front would sweep its way in the southerly direction across Scotland into Northern Ireland and hence bringing in some showers over the region. At this point, the far south will stay dry throughout Thursday night into Friday morning.

The episode of rain is expected to hang on across England and Wales on Friday morning, particularly the western, northern as well as eastern areas accompanied by hail.

There is a strong likelihood of snow over the higher grounds of Scotland.

Such forthcoming weather conditions would push the temperatures to tumble even further as the country heads into Saturday. One would be able to feel the distinct chill while stepping out of the house. Some places may witness temperatures as low as -5°C.
