Typhoon Kammuri to batter Philippines, Luzon, Manila to come under radar

November 29, 2019 6:24 PM |

Kammuri Typhoon

Typhoon Kammuri continues to move in the open waters of the Pacific Ocean and is following a westward track. In the next couple of days, the storm will undergo some intensification, becoming a Cat 2 Typhoon, thereafter, even being a Cat 3 Typhoon.

The system is expected to remain slow and shift a little northward for a couple of days, thereafter, following a westward course. There are chances that the system may not be as strong as was being forecast before, but as far as its track is concerned, the system will go through and through Philippines.

Kammuri is expected to bring very heavy rains with strong winds and storm surge over Luzon. Moreover, the national capital, Manila will also come under the radar of the storm and see some intense weather activity.

After battering Philippines, Kammuri will weaken and cross the nation and entering South China Sea as a tropical storm. Normally, after a storm crosses South China Sea, some sign of re-curvature is seen but these systems, many a times cross through East Asia and appear in the Bay of Bengal.

Thus, there are chances that after entering South China Sea as a tropical storm, it may retain its strength and move across Vietnam and Thailand and the remnant of the system may appear in the Bay of Bengal.
