As per South Korea’s safety agency, at least seven people have been killed so far by the strongest typhoons since Maemi which occurred in the year 2003. Heavy rains along with gusty winds up to a whopping 233 mph have resulted in way more damage than anticipated.
Several footages have been released of houses being damaged and walls collapsing due to strong winds over the region. At least 200,000 people have been facing power outages and at least a hundred flights were cancelled due to the devastating effects of Typhoon Chaba.
Daily life of several areas in South Korea have come to a halt as floodwaters inundated the streets and many homes of residents. Ferocious waves were also witnessed when the storm lashed the region.
Severe storm warnings were issued in the wake of Typhoon Chaba in Japan, however, the storm has downgraded into a tropical cyclone before hitting Honshu in the Japan region.
