Australia’s weather has been playing the game of hide and seek from the last couple of day. Recently, Melbourne was lashed by torrential flood causing rains and then Sydney’s temperature went up to scaling heights. Now, its turn for Adelaide which is expected to witness scorching weather.

Sweltering weather is expected to bake Adelaide which is likely to witness a scorching 40°C on Friday. The weekends are going to be sultrier as the mercury might scale up to a good 41°C on Saturday. However, minimums in the city could remain in high 20’s.

A very low to severe intensity heatwave might be experienced throughout the state starting from Friday until Sunday. The temperatures are predicted to plunge a bit on Sunday and may settle at around 30°C.

Given the fact that heatwaves kill far more people than other natural disasters, the SES personnel have decided to welcome international tourists at Adelaide Airport with bottles of water.

People are advised to stay as much indoors as possible and stay well hydrated. Elderly people, children, and tourists coming from overseas are the most vulnerable to extreme muggy conditions.

While, as per the Meteorological Department, the muggy weather condition is not going to affect the cyclists much who are here for Tour Down Under tournament that is scheduled to be held from January 14 until January 22 in Adelaide and regional South Australia. The cyclist will cope with the heat just fine.

Moreover, the first International cycling teams have also arrived in the city for the tournament.
