Heavy showers, along with the risk of localized flash flooding will prevail over parts of the northeastern United States early this week. The utmost threat for localized flash flooding will be from Virginia to Eastern New York State. On the other hand, there is also a possibility for torrential rains and isolated flash flooding in parts of New England.
Even though these rains are considered to provide relief from the dry weather, risk of flooding largely threatens motorists against the low visibility. People spending time outdoors must keep an eye out for varying weather conditions.
There can be recurrent lightning strikes and brief strong wind gusts. More or less dry air will mix in, and that would make the downpours spotty in nature.
According to a weatherman, weak steering winds will continue and enough moisture will remain so that a few more storms are probable to develop into midweek.
Humidity and temperatures will increase once again later in the week across the northeastern US ahead of a cold front that is expected to begin the new weekend on a rainy note.
