Thunderstorms in store for Midwest, Northeast USThunderstorms are in store for several parts of the Northeastern and the Midwestern United States. Right from the Great Lakes to parts of Northwest US will witness drenching thunderstorms between late weekend and early next week.

The upper Midwest will be the first to observe these thunderstorms later during the weekend. Thereafter, conditions will become favourable for some weather activity over the eastern parts of Great Lakes as well as the Northeast US around Monday.

By Tuesday, these thunderstorms will also make their way towards the Mid Atlantic United States. While Central United States will witness some triple digit heat, some of these storms could be rather strong due to the present heat.

Heavy downpours along with feisty storms could be the primary threats for residents. A stormy Sunday evening/night is in store for areas including Minneapolis, Chicago, Wisconsin, and Iowa. During this period, sunny conditions will prevail over Washington D.C., Boston and New York.

However, Monday is expected to begin on a rainy note for areas including New York, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. Wet weather conditions may stay for a while and even hamper plans on Tuesday.

Some areas may witness flooding between Sunday and Tuesday as areas including West Virginia and Minnesota who have already been receiving heavy rains only need an inch or two of rains to induce flooding. Road and air traffic may also be mildly affected during this period.
