As per the Bureau of Meteorology, there stands higher chances of the Northern Territorial region to get bashed by cyclones later this month. Most likely, these early cyclones are probable in the wet season.
Though the average time for such cyclones to hit the Territory usually falls during Christmas but if the current climatic conditions are to be considered, as per the BOM, there are 50 percent chances that the cyclone may fall a little earlier.
As compared to northern Australia, sea surface temperatures are generally one or two degrees warmer. Furthermore, it is all because of the La-Nina like characteristics that are expected to loop in more tropical cyclones of greater frequency in early December.
The country braced 2015 as the hottest year on record, however, if experts are to be trusted, this year may be an epitome again probably breaking last year’s record.
This year, the Northern Territory is likely to witness an above temperature and in next 50 years, more heatwaves, bushfires are also expected to be witnessed frequently, followed by some really extreme weather conditions.
The cyclone warning aroused after the speedy winds gusting at a speed of 110km frayed through Darwin’s rural area including Palmerston during thunderstorms over the Weekend. As per the weatherman, those wind gusts can be categorized as category one for cyclones.
