The Plains of the United States are all set to witness heavy rains in the coming days. Several areas in the region are also expected to witness flash flooding. Many areas of Oklahoma and Texas may observe severe flash floods tomorrow.
A flash flood watch has been issued by the National Weather services in areas including San Angelo, Texas and Midland-Odessa. The Southern Plains are most likely to observe quite a few spells of heavy rains which may trigger flash floods in many areas.
Both Oklahoma and Texas may witness heavy showers of over three inches in a time frame of one or two hours. These rains if continued for over three hours, are enough to cause flash floods.
Monday will be more severe as compared to today. More showers are expected to lash areas of Midland, and Wichita Falls in Texas. The Central and Southern Plains are likely to receive 25 to 75 mm of rainfall.
Many areas that lie in the plains are vulnerable to heavy rains and flash flooding during the next few days. Residents should watch out for the upcoming severe weather conditions and make travel plans accordingly.
A cluster of thunderstorms are likely to cause heavy rains over these areas and all weekend plans of residents in Oklahoma and Texas are likely to be hindered.
