Temperatures to plunge below freezing point in London

London is set for an Arctic splash early next week with temperatures almost plunging below freezing point. This can be attributed to a high pressure weather front which is likely to hit the UK from the North-East.

According to weather experts, the mercury could dip as low as -3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

While the capital has been witnessing temperatures at teeth-biting levels in the second half of the year so far, now it is time to grab your hat, scarf and gloves to ward off the cold explosion.

This approaching cold front could be the start of an icy December. The last widespread White Christmas was in 2010, as per weather records.

Londoners can expect a decent warm weekend with temperatures staying as cozy as 9 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday. However, an icy blast is likely to bring frost and fog early next week, with mercury plummeting below zero overnight on Monday.

More so, a weather front moving north-westerly across Britain could indicate more wind and rain, thus resulting in more unstable weather conditions, including cold spells during the middle of next week. There is also a chance of frost.
