Almost southern half of Australia woke up to a chilly morning on Thursday. As disclosed by the morning commuters, Sydney witnessed frozen weather in the morning along with the westerly winds of 25-30km/h making the conditions really wintry.
Mercury settled at 9.6 degrees in early morning in Sydney, it felt like being close to or below zero degrees.
As per the Meteorological Department, temperature recorded for Richmond as on 6 am AEST was -1.5 degrees however, the feel-like was that of -5 degrees Celcius. Moreover, Friday will also witness a chilly morning with the mercury settling at around 6 degrees. Thereafter, temperatures are likely to rise and gain few more degrees.
Maximums may settle at around 16-17 degrees on Thursday and Friday while same may rise up to 20-22 degrees on weekend. The meteorologists also expect warm weather ahead and the cold freeze might not hit Australia again until Saturday. Both daily maximums and minimums are likely to settle a degree above their normal.
The region may also witness clear skies along with light winds to lessen the morning chills. However, the Met Department also claims that it is the best time to enjoy and go skiing before the weather clears up and become warm by next week.
