September 24, 2016 3:05 PM |

Hottest summerWe just lived through the hottest summer in the history of weather records. As per a report submitted by NOAA this week, year 2016 has seen the hottest summer ever recorded. The records dates back to somewhere around the 1880’s.

While the records are only since the 1880, it is possible that this may have been the hottest summer in at least a thousand years. Not only this, August 2016 also marks 16 months of warm weather record across the globe, which happens to be the hottest streak in over 130 years.

The temperatures along the globe have been only increasing since the past year and this may increase all the more in the coming months. One of the reasons can be attributed to increasing carbon pollution caused by humans.

Only last year, the Earth had witnessed the hottest summer ever. This year, as per a federal climate report, the global land and ocean surfaces average temperatures increased 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit more than the average of 60.1 degrees (F).

NOAA also explained that a record warmth of summer was witnessed over Northern South America, central and southern Africa, Western Alaska, Northwestern and Far East Russia, The Middle East, China, Indonesia and New Zealand.

The first eight years of the month were also unbelievably warm making way for 2016 to be the warmest year ever recorded.
