September 9, 2016 1:10 PM |

US Rains

After a long period of blistering heat and humidity over much of northeastern United States, temperatures and humidity levels are expected to become a bit comfortable in the wake of a cold front during this weekend.

Thunderstorms are likely along the leading edge of the cooler air from west to east around Saturday into Sunday.

Rain and thunderstorms are possible over parts of the Northeast this Friday night, as a couple of weather systems will move across the region. Heavy downpours, along with gusty winds are expected.

Many towns which are facing severe heat conditions are likely to witness highs above 90°F (32°C) this Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to then drop to almost 70°F (21°C) on Sunday over Pittsburgh and Erie in Pennsylvania, Buffalo and Syracuse in New York, Burlington, Vermont and Cleveland.

From New York City to Washington, D.C., highs are expected to be between high 70°F (21°C) and lower 80°F (27°C) during next week.

Temperature and humidity levels are likely to remain on a roller-coaster pattern over much of next week. Thereafter, temperatures will drift back on Tuesday into Wednesday, however it will not be as warm as the end of this week. One more cooldown may arrive in the region later next week.
