Southwest United States is expected to witness dry weather conditions right after Storm Newton wreaked havoc by causing very heavy rains and resulting in localized flooding across the region on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Newton slammed into Baja California as a Category 1 hurricane. While the weather system weakened, torrential rains were observed over many parts of Southwest United States on Wednesday night.
Both Friday and Saturday will bring dry weather conditions to many areas of New Mexico as well as Arizona. These weather conditions will help in the cleanup efforts of the havoc wreaked by Storm Newton. Both the aforementioned areas were severely affected during the time when Newton caused way more trouble than it was anticipated.
On Wednesday, Tucson in Arizona received a whopping 125 mm of rain. The monthly mean for the city stands at 129 mm as per meteorologists.
Many communities near New Mexico, Mobile, Arizona as well as Las Cruces witnessed some very heavy rains and flooding in many areas during this period.
The desert southwest is done with the fury of Newton. However, the moisture which is still left from Newton will give some good rains over many areas of the Midwest as well as the Plains throughout the weekend.
