In a twisted tale of unlikely weather events, the northwestern and central parts of Saudi Arabia received snowfall as the temperature went below 0°C. Record of temperatures went as low as -3°C in few areas of northern Saudi Arabia.
The rainfall season for the country happens to be mid-October and this snowfall happens to be the ‘second rainfall’ after a completely dry period of 40 days. In April last year, 18 people lost their lives due to flooding the country.
Civic authorities have issued warning and advisories for the people to stay safe during the unseasonal snowfall. But people of Saudi know how to make the most of such weather and twitter has the proof.
