While most the country is shivering with winter storms and cold weather, southern US is witnessing another form of extreme weather. A strong and deadly flurry of storms ripped apart South US killing 19 in people in its path. The storms started in Florida and continue to rattle Georgia.
The tornado split Albany, Georgia in trauma as the storm left 4 dead by Saturday. Albany with a population of 77,000 people saw significant damage with trees ripped apart by the roots and electricity lines downed. Reportedly, a child was trapped by a tree during the storm.
At least 14 people were killed from tornado in Adel, Georgia on Sunday. Throughout Sunday multiple storms showed up in Georgia which caused most damage in three reported locations near Barney, Adel and New Lois, Georgia.
After the devastating multiple storms more than 10,000 people remain without power as reported by Georgia Power. Over 4,000 residents are without power across Florida.
Golf ball sized hail was reported in many areas of the southern US. As of now, more storms are expected to show up over the region.
