Thunderstorms with heavy rains from Monday night into Tuesday have caused widespread flooding across the plains of south Texas and Kansas. Around 75 mm of rain was recorded in Manhattan, Kansas in just a few hours. Over 100 mm of rain was reported just northwest of Manhattan which is a new record since the year 1908. Lubbock, Kansas saw extreme rainfall at the rate of 75-100 mm per hour. This forced the authorities to close roads and submerged cars.

Germany

Buetzow, a German town has been ravaged by what residents describe a tornado. The supposed tornado ripped through the town tearing the roofs, overturning cars, uprooting trees and causing extensive damage to other parts of Germany. The debris flying across the streets has left buildings severely damaged. Many cars were destroyed and many people were injured. One person died due to falling debris. The extent of damage is still unknown.

Australia

The Tasmanian region of Australia was struck with strong winds gusting up to 160 kmph. Nearly 10,000 homes and offices were left without power which forced people to close their offices. Some of the roofs were blown off due to strong winds. Weather warnings are still in place.
