Northeast United States should gear up for some severe weather as a frontal system is expected to bring thunderstorms over the region during the next 24 hours.
The worst part is that these storms could also result in hailstorms, flash flooding along with damaging winds in several parts.
On Sunday morning, an apartment building in Iowa was blown off due to severe storms as well as two tornado touchdowns. Not only this, several homes in Walford also suffered much damage due to these thunderstorms. Sunday evening also witnessed a few isolated storms of lower threat.
Scattered storms are expected to make an appearance right from the Northeast to the Ohio Valley. Areas including Pennsylvania, Indiana, New York, Kentucky and Illinois are also expected to observe severe weather conditions. In fact, a few parts of the Far East may also experience some weather activity.
While hailstorms along with gusty winds are a possibility over these areas, there are isolated chances of a tornado touch down as well. Places including Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Indianapolis will be under major threat of severe storms.
Two tornadoes including one in Clark County and another in South Dakota were reported. North Carolina along with Raleigh-Durham witnessed flash flooding. On Friday, six tornadoes were reported between Colorado and Kansas as well.
