Several tornadoes swept parts of Mid Wales

Several tornadoes had hit parts of Mid Wales causing havoc in various locations. Strong winds gusting at a speed of up to 84 miles per hours have been said to cause damage to various buildings and vehicles thereby knocking down some trees as well.

As per the Aberystwyth lifeboat station, winds gust at 82 knots - 94 mph were witnessed shortly after 10.30am on Thursday. These winds have also said to flatten various caravans also resulting in power failure.

As per the witnesses, several trees and roof tiles were blown by the tornadoes on to the roads along with power outages in almost 600 households.

Strong winds gusting at a speed of 84mph were also observed in the village of Shawbury and Shropshire.

The Meteorological Department had issued several ice warning in parts of Scotland, north England and the Midlands. The weekend may also witness some chilly weather and frost along with snow.

Weekend until Monday may also witness overnight frosts however, sunny spells along with some showers are also expected during the day.

The MET Office also cautioned that strong winds of up to 50 mph can end up devastating several properties in the south east on Saturday. Moreover, rainfall measuring up to 30 mm is also likely in the south in a single span of 24 hours.

This rain is said to be almost half the average for November.
