A line of severe storms has wreaked havoc in Southeastern Texas including areas near Houston metro on Tuesday morning. The tornadoes affected several people, majorly injuring seven apart from causing structural damages.
As per the National Weather Service, there were a series of at least six tornadoes that touched down southeast part of the city. The tornadoes are said to have been located 7 miles south of Rosenberg at a speed of 50 mph over Fairchilds.
The tornadoes along with torrential rains and lashing winds had impacted areas like Sugar Land, Missouri City, Rosenberg, Stafford, Richmond, Southwestern Manvel, Fresno, First Colony, Pecan Grove, Meadows Place, Needville, Arcola, Lowa Colony, Pleak, Fairchilds, Beasley, Thompsons, Brazos Bend State Park, Brays Oaks and New Territory.
In fact, the tornado caused structural damages and flipped some of the mobile homes, travel trailer and other recreational vehicles. The aftermath of the severe weather was not only restricted to damaging the city’s property but also caused severe destruction to trees that were uprooted and tumbled down.
Tornadoes also resulted in power outages in the Houston metro areas.
Though, as per the weatherman, the threat for these inclement weather conditions ended for Houston on Tuesday morning, but other parts of the Gulf Coast and Southeast could see more stormy weather through Wednesday.
