August 31, 2015 3:10 PM |

Hot weather in USAIts September already but the summer heat is here to stay. To make matters worse the heat will be accompanied by high humidity. This heat wave is likely to continue throughout the week, making it one of the warmest week in September.

Much of the area along the I-95 corridor including Washington DC, New York and Philadelphia will experience several consecutive days where the temperature will settle above 32°C thereby, which is officially considered heat wave. This heat wave is attributed to the jet stream shifting northwards and creation of a high pressure area over the region. This will also cause storms and rainfall in Canada. The heat wave will not only be confined to the northeast region but will also affect the Midwest and Great Lakes region as well. Cities like Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis will experience temperatures settling 10°C above normal.

The combination of heat and humidity will make it uncomfortable for the people in the region. People have been advised to drink plenty of water, avoid direct exposure to sunlight, wear light colored clothes, avoid strenuous exercises and try to stay in a cool place as much as possible.
