The first official day of the Rio Olympics 2016 is finally here and Brazil along with the whole world couldn’t have asked for more. It is the first time ever that the Olympics are being held in a country in South America.
Weather wise, Rio de Janeiro is its true self. The city is situated in the east coast of Brazil and the weather in August happens to be quite similar than that in Miami during winters, cool and dry. Rio is also situated on the coast far into the Atlantic Ocean.
At present, the weather conditions in Rio will only be a positive for all the participants as well as the spectators. The average high temperatures ranges around 78 degree Fahrenheit and the average low ranges somewhere around 65 degrees.
With these weather conditions, the Olympics will be the most pleasant in terms of climate since 2000 when Sydney hosted the Olympics during the fall.
Due to the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, cool and moist winds will be a regular feature which may also act as a hindrance to a few outdoor events. The good part is that the humid and hot Brazil weather will be mostly absent making conditions much better for all.
