Upstate New York has finally received some relief from the continuous winter attack. Similar weather pattern is expected to prevail over the region until the Holiday weekend.
It can be said that weather is portraying a picture perfect Christmas weekend for the state. However, temperatures are expected to remain above normal. Weather will be perfect for any kinds of travels, not leading to any sort of inconvenience.
As a storm system is expected to move through the north of Upstate New York on Saturday, some light showers can make their appearance.
Chances of light precipitation moving in for most of the Upstate New York lies between midnight and early Saturday morning. In the beginning, these rainy spells will fall as snow and the temperatures are expected to plunge to lower and mid-30s in the dawn.
Thereafter, during the mid-morning hours, snow over at most areas will start beginning to change in rain due to warmer air. Much of the precipitation will also be ruled out by the mid to late afternoon.
The highest elevations in the south parts of Western New York including Catskills and Adirondacks are also expected to stay cold for the rain spells to remain as snow. Though snow accumulation here also will be limited to just an inch or two.
The system is also expected to carry some winds as well gusting at a speed of 30 mph. however, a few of them may even be gusting at a speed of 35 mph around Buffalo, across Central New York, and in other higher elevations.
Saturday afternoon will witness raised temperatures in the mid or upper 30s there could be regions witnessing 40 degrees and above particularly across the Finger Lakes. On the contrary, northern parts of the country might even touch low and mid-30s.
