As of today, scattered rain and thundershowers are expected across the country. During early hours, light rains have already been recorded in parts including Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times pouring downpours, particularly over central and western parts of the country during afternoon hours.
In wake of this, drop in temperatures are expected over many areas. Temperatures will range between 14°C to 27°C along the coast, 12°C to 28°C inland and 7°C to 21°C in the mountains.
Moderate winds will blow across the country, resulting in blowing dust and reducing visibility to less than 2km at times. Due to this, motorists are warned to drive with caution. These winds are expected to be strong, picking up sand over exposed areas of the country.
According to weather forecasters, these weather conditions will become little calmer by Wednesday.
On the other hand, heavy rainfall has thrown life out of gear in several parts of Oman. Instances of flash floods and isolated hailstorm has been reported in Muscat, Musandam, North and South Al Batinah and according to Met Department, rain will continue for another 24 - 48 hours.
