Golfers from around the world are waiting for the 145th British Open which is going to be held at Royal Troon Golf Club, Scotland. The event is scheduled to commence on Thursday through Sunday. However, the championship is already under threat from the adverse weather behavior prevailing in Scotland.

As per the meteorologists, the area has witnessed rainfall almost every day of the month and further rains are also expected. Moreover, more danger for the tournament is in sight due to the prolonged rains expected on Friday. The reason for these perpetual rains can be attributed to a storm that is likely to arrive from the Atlantic Ocean.

Rain intensity will probably increase during the day.  Additionally, possibility of heavy downpours during the afternoon hours cannot be ruled out as well. As reiterated by the Meteorological Department, showers are expected almost each day throughout the event. It is worth seeing how the course plays during these upcoming weather conditions.

Not just the rains but another bigger challenge for the golfers would also be the strong southwest winds along with hefty showers that are expected over the weekend. Moreover, the Royal Troon course is also located along the southwest coast of Scotland, therefore, the tournament is also likely to get affected by erratic coastal winds.

As forecasted, gusty winds with sped of 10-20 mph are also expected during the weekend.
