Rainy days in Northeast US after unusual warm weather

November 3, 2016 11:37 AM | Skymet Weather Team

It looks like Northeast United States is in for some cooler weather as a rainy weekend is expected in many parts. The unusual warm weather conditions will witness an end as chilly air is expected to take over. The air will bring along with it a few spells of showers and cloudy weather.

Heavy rain in some parts of the region is expected to result in flooding and poor visibility as well. The lower areas of Great Lakes and Ohio Valley will begin to witness rainy weather conditions from Thursday itself. These rains will be in some form a good news for the areas of Northeast witnessing drought conditions for quite some time now.

Right from parts of Western and Northern New York to Northern Pennsylvania along with Northwestern New England are likely to observe some showers. The possibility of wet snowflakes also cannot be ruled out over these areas.

Upstate New York and New England are expected to witness some chill and these conditions are here to stay. Temperatures here will be at least 5 to 7 degrees below the normal levels. Parts of the Mid-Atlantic will observe less cooler weather; however, the possibility of cool breeze cannot be ruled out.

Around much of the Northeast United States, temperatures are expected to come back to the normal levels around the election time.
