Most parts of South Australia were hit by heavy rains along with gusty winds and cold front. These rains are likely to strike southeastern Australia today.
Warnings have been issued against strong winds and more wild weather to make their way towards particularly over South Australia and Victoria. In fact, these regions have already witnessed some heavy downpour along with storms and floods.
As per the Met Department further warns that these heavy falls could possibly also bring in flashfloods in major centers as the strong cold front moves east.
In fact, strong winds gusting at a speed of 111km/hr in Mr Hotham and at 93km/hr at Melbourne Airport along with rains have even lashed Victoria last night.
Moreover, the State Emergency Service has also advised the Victorians to remain safe for another 2 days as more rains are expected in coming two days. Temperatures are also expected to witness a low with chances of Melbourne recording just 16°C due to showers that may last until Wednesday.
There are 20 flood warnings in place across the state including for the Loddon and Avoca rivers. As per the forecasters, chilly temperatures, torrential downpour and robust westerly winds are predictable for the next 36 hours.
It also predicted further falls of 15-40 mm over the Mid North and 40-80 mm over the Mt Lofty Ranges in the next 48 hours. Parts of Adelaide are also under the threat of heavy rains along with strong winds. It comes after days of widespread flooding and wild weather that saw the entire state lose electricity.
Although mercury is expected to witness a fall settling close to 16°C. Chances are that weather will advance by Wednesday with temperatures settling at 27°C by the weekend.
Sydney has though been lucky enough to escape from most of the weather, remaining parts of NSW has not been so fortunate.
Heavy winds speeding up at 100 to 110km/hr are also foreseen for Alpine. It is expected to scale up at 17°C in the state’s central west, thereafter, 22-24°C is likely for the rest of the week.
Good showers along with 26°C temperatures are forecasted for Sydney too. The rest of the week may close between of 25-29°C.
The state can also expect showers until Thursday before further rain sets in for Friday and the across the weekend. There are also at least six flood warnings in place, including for the Macquarie and Derwent rivers.
After long sunny days, Brisbane will also witness a rainy day today with showers and storms hitting the state’s capital.
