The world is about to step into the next year in just a few days and people across the globe are making plans to bid adieu to the current year and welcome the New Year with arms wide open. Though much of the UK may witness unsettled weather conditions.
However, the forthcoming week will still be calm but disturbed weather conditions are likely to return in time for New Year’s celebrations.
As per the weatherman, period of rains are expected to lash southwards along with a cold front. This would further lead to sweeping away the calm weather pattern and lead to reduced fog and visibility.
Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England are the most probable areas that are expected to witness the most chances of showers dampening the New Year’s Eve revelries. New Year’s festivities will also be obstructing the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations and the New Year’s Eve winter carnival and fireworks in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Across the northern U.K. as well, it is worth figuring out the cities that will be majorly affected by the rounds of rain thereby affecting the New Year’s festivities including the fireworks display.
As the abrupt winds escort colder air southward, due to this cold front including the rainy spells, the showers will also point towards the northern Scotland. Wintry showers are also predicted in the hills.
Post the New Year’s Day, the rain is also expected to reach Wales and southern England, letting partygoers in London or Cardiff to enjoy their New Year without their brollies. Though low-lying clouds could still be expected on the New Year’s Eve. Light spells can be foreseen dampening a few communities across the western coast.
Temperatures are expected to near to slightly above normal for New Year’s Eve across the southern U.K. and generally range from 5-8 C (41-47 F).
