Rain to commence over Northeastern US coming weekend

October 17, 2016 7:28 PM | Skymet Weather Team

After recording an unusual warm week over northeastern United States the temperatures are expected to take a dip during the course of upcoming weekend. In some areas the air might be just cold enough to get the first snowflakes of the season.

The weathermen pronounced that the dramatic changes in the weather will occur across the eastern U.S. through the end of October. These changes will include the incessant cold rains over the entire Northeast US. Few snowflakes can be witnessed near the Great Lakes and northern New England late this weekend into early next week.

The area of high pressure was responsible for the record warm weather last week. But the area of low pressure is expected to develop along the front which will help to send a moisture surge across Northeast US from Atlantic.

On Thursday and Friday will provide the weather conditions for rain which will continue on to Saturday as well. New England which experienced drought conditions will continue to experience rampant rains. However, the rain would also cause problems across the region.

For the people planning a weekend trip should keep a check on the updates on the forecast.
