Rain to continue over Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar; isolated showers in Karachi

Rain and thunderstorms have occurred over scattered places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Hazara divisions. Also isolated places of Mirpurkhas, Islamabad and Hyderabad divisions witnessed some spells. The weather remained hot and humid over rest parts of the country.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Noorpur Thal recorded a good 68 mm of rainfall, followed by Muzzaffarabad 45 mm, Malamjabba 10 mm, Kamra 23 mm, Joharabad 13 mm, Mianwali 7 mm, and Mangla 5 mm.

According to weathermen, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has given rains over northern parts of Pakistan, while the low pressure area resulted in rains over South Sindh region.

Moderate rain is expected to continue over northern parts of the country. Meanwhile, the rain intensity will decrease over Sindh, however scattered showers may continue over southwestern parts of the region, adjacent to Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The reason for this reduced activity will be given to the low pressure area that has moved in north direction and currently lies over Central Rajasthan.

Thus, rain and thunderstorm is expected over scattered places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions, and Islamaba.
