Bangladesh usually does not receive a lot of rains during this time. Rainfall activity occurs when systems form either over Northeast India or eastern parts of the country moving towards Northeast India or circulations forming over Bangladesh.
Scattered rains have been going on over Bangladesh for the last two days or so. Now, the intensity of these rains are likely to increase.
Thus, heavy rains are also expected to make an appearance in some parts while most areas will see moderate rainfall. Along with this, the possibility of isolated hailstorm over these areas also cannot be ruled out. Meanwhile, lightning strikes will be accompanied with rainfall activities.
These activities are likely to continue until February 28 evening., Thereafter, the weather system will move away eastwards and rains will reduce.
However, during the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains will continue due to a trough will extend from Uttar Pradesh to Bangladesh. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation has already formed over Bangladesh.
Humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are feeding moisture which will further result in the enhancement of rainfall activities.
