Updated on July 25, 2015: The Western Disturbance will continue to give light to moderate rain over North Pakistan. The low pressure area over Northwest Madhya Pradesh may move further west. The cyclonic circulation over Saurashtra and adjoining Arabian Sea extends up to 5.8 km and is likely to move in the north-northwest direction. The trough extending from these systems may result in scattered light rain over Central Pakistan. From July 28, rainfall will further intensify in the Sindh province and will continue for the next 48 hours or so.
Updated on July 23, 2015: Moderate to heavy rains have lashed the northern parts of Pakistan. After a long dry spell, good Monsoon showers have finally brought the much needed relief to the residents of the region. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Balkot received 96 mm and Kakul recorded 68 mm of rain. During the same time span, Muzaffarabad observed 61 mm while Sialkot recorded 23 mm of rain.
Presently, a Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir giving good rains over the northern parts of the country. For the next two days, moderate to heavy rainfall at many places will continue. Also, till July 26, on and off rain will be prevalent over the region.
Scattered rain will continue over Sindh. Karachi, Badin and Hyderabad in particular may receive isolated to heavy falls during the next 24 to 48 hours. This rainfall will be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is over Gujarat and adjoining areas of Pakistan.
Also, West Central Pakistan will receive scattered rain. However, the western parts of the Baluchistan Province will remain dry. On the other hand, northern areas of Baluchistan may receive light rain after all. Northern parts of Sindh adjoining Baluchistan will remain hot and dry. The maximum temperature will settle in the higher 30s leading to discomfort.
